Now Wat?

Sat 05 Mar 2016 - Relaxing at the Frangipani

There is a phrase often used by visitors to this area - ‘templed out’ - and by the third day we were, so we treated ourselves to day at the hotel. Lying on sun loungers with an occasional dip in the pool to cool off, we snoozed, read and enjoyed the sunshine. When the heat became too much we retired to our room for an afternoon of internet research to plan the next few weeks of our journey through southern Cambodia and up through Vietnam, in particular visa entry and onward journey requirements for the next couple of months so we don’t get caught out again.

During our searching for somewhere to eat tonight, Yvonne found a large burger restaurant run by Kiwis, which even did Kiwi pies, so with appetites whetted we set off in the evening to find it. The directions had seemed straightforward: along the road our hotel was on until the next bridge then take the next right. In the heat and darkness, we just couldn’t find it. Bitterly disappointed we trudged back the way we’d come to a nice looking place we passed earlier and had a very nice Khmer meal - but it wasn’t burger and chips! Maybe tomorrow in Phnom Penh.

Sometimes it's good to just chill.
