Sun 8 Nov - Collection of the Camping Truck
We didn't have sore feet from the dancing as we’d been given flip flops printed with “Just Maui’d” last night. Our photo booth pics really showed how much fun we both had and I’d slept still wearing the bangles the ladies had all been given.
Sadly today we had to leave the Luani Kai condo in Kihea and the Wedding celebrations were over. We reflected on what a great few days we’d had at the Wedding and promised to keep in touch with the lovely people we had met.
Today we moved to our next adventure and picked up the 4x4 truck with the tent perched above the flatbed and start touring this island, Maui. Sean, the truck owner took us through how everything worked and gave us some great insider knowledge of where to visit. Off we went “Upcountry” to free camp just below the Haleakala Crater, which is the famous dormant volcano here. Parked and pitched up, we watched the sunset and cooked our meal in the dark wearing our head torches and were in our sleeping bags perched up high by 9pm in the pitch black and total silence. It’s going to be a busy day of hiking tomorrow.
