Good diet, starts now.

Thu 5 May 2016 - Johannesburg to Hazyview

We managed to synchronise when to stay awake and sleep to allow us to slip straight into South African time and by 8am we were at breakfast. Oh elation! Cereals, milk, wholemeal bread and cheese! We savoured our return to the west and by 0900 we were in the car, refreshed and ready for a morning of shopping. Heading out of town we bought two pairs of binoculars ready for the game viewing over the next few days and weeks to come. We also purchased a kit with exercise for some toning and shaping in mind, as we have both gone to rack and ruin with months of little exercise and too much rice and curry whilst in SE Asia. We are now committed to get back in shape and control our eating as we tour around SA being able to self cater, although this didn’t stop us having rather a large fast food lunch - we’ll put this down to jetlag. The rest of the afternoon we drove to Hazyview, which is one of the main gateway towns to the Kruger NP.

We’re overnighting at a traditional Kaaii rondell on a Macadamia plantation which is close to one of the gates. A quick supermarket shop, first time for 2+months, and we prepared ourselves for a 5am start to hopefully be at the park for opening time of 6am.
